ZONES¶
In this tab, you must carefully program the functions of the monitoring zones. The proper operation of the alarm system depends to a very large extent on the correctness of these settings.
Here, you program all zones: wired and wireless, provided that the EXP–RF wireless device module is installed in the system.
Name¶
Describe the detector and enter its location (e.g., Entrance, Living Room, Kitchen, Garage). This name will later be displayed on the keypad, in the event log, and in the mobile app, greatly simplifying system operation and maintenance.
Zone Response Types¶
Zone response types define how a given zone will behave. There are 22 different zone types available in the system. To program functions related to zones, you must first select the zone response type (programming is not possible for “Unused” zones).
Unused¶
Zones not used in the system should be programmed as unused zones. A zone of this type is not visible in the system, and a violation of it does not trigger any system response.
Delayed 1¶
A violation of a Delayed 1 zone while a partition is armed triggers a countdown for entry 1—if the system is not disarmed during the entry time, an alarm event will be triggered.
Delayed 2¶
A violation of the Delay 2 zone while a partition is armed triggers a 2-second entry delay—if the system is not disarmed during this entry delay, an alarm event will be triggered.
Internal¶
The internal zone operates with a delay if a delayed zone has been violated beforehand. Otherwise, it operates like an instant zone while the partition is armed.
Instant¶
During arming, the zone triggers an alarm immediately.
24-hour fire¶
Violation of this zone will immediately activate a loud alarm: the BELL output (cycling 3 seconds on/3 seconds off), an alarm indication on all keypads, and a fire icon displayed in the mobile app for the corresponding partition. (See also: Double Fire Verification).
24-hour intrusion¶
A violation of this zone will immediately trigger a continuous BELL alarm, alert all keypads, and display a Shield icon in the mobile app.
24-hour gas¶
A violation of this zone will trigger an alert on all keypads (rapid flashing every 1 second).
24-hour temperature¶
A violation of this zone will immediately trigger a continuous BELL alarm and an alert on all keypads if the temperature exceeds the threshold programmed in the temperature detector.
24h flood¶
A violation of this zone will immediately trigger a continuous BELL alarm and an alarm on all keypads.
24-hour tamper¶
A violation of this zone will immediately trigger a continuous BELL alarm and an alert on all keypads.
NOTE! A violation of this type of zone while the control panel is in service mode will not trigger any system response and can be used to perform service work without triggering alarms.
24-hour no-alarm¶
A violation of this zone does not trigger an alarm; instead, an entry is added to the event log.
24h Customizable¶
This feature is currently under development and will be available in the future.
Output Control¶
The zone does not generate any alarm events, and a violation is not recorded in the event log. The zone is used solely to control a PGM output. When programming, this type of zone must be associated with an Output (event type: Line Tracking) and the zone number must be specified.
Temporary On/Off Key¶
A momentary violation of the NC, NO, or EOL zones causes the partition to which the zone is assigned to be alternately armed and disarmed.
Permanent on/off key¶
A violation of the zone causes the partition to which the zone is assigned to be permanently armed or disarmed. NC and EOL zones: closed $=$ system disarmed; zone violated, in tamper mode, or in trouble mode $=$ system armed. For NO zones: closed $=$ system armed; zone open $=$ system disarmed.
Temporary arming key¶
A temporary violation of an NC, NO, or EOL zone will arm the partition to which the zone is assigned.
Temporary Disarm Key¶
A momentary violation of the NC, NO, and EOL zones will disarm the partition to which the zone is assigned.
24-hour panic¶
A violation of this zone will immediately trigger a continuous BELL alarm and signal on all keypads.
24h Hold-up¶
A violation of this zone does not trigger a BELL alarm or signaling on keypads or in the mobile app. Only a text message appears on the keypads. A notification is sent to the monitoring station, and an entry is made in the event log.
Serial Number¶
After scanning a wireless device, its serial number will be displayed here.
Scan¶
When adding wireless devices, press the Scan button (when programming from the keypad, select the Scan RF Zones option), then turn on the wireless device or press its Enroll button or power button. This will add the device to the system. A wireless device can be added to any unused zone in the system, depending on the type of wireless devices used. For a detailed description of how to add wireless devices from various manufacturers, see the chapter Installation of Wireless Device Expanders.
After adding a wireless detector to a given zone, the Scan button changes to Delete. When you hover the mouse cursor over a given zone and right-click, an additional menu appears:
- Advanced Settings, with additional options for wireless detectors: detector activity while the system is disarmed and zone sensitivity (low, medium, high).
- IP Input, with options used when connecting BCS Point and BCS Line cameras with image analysis as virtual detectors for various alarm events (for example, temperature detection, entry into an area, object left behind, face recognition, crowd detection).
Delete¶
To remove a wireless device, press the Delete button (when programming via the keypad, select the Delete RF Zones option). Confirm that you want to remove the device from the system.
Assigning Zones to Partitions¶
You can assign zones to a specific partition or subsystem. A zone can be assigned to multiple partitions. This allows you to create a common partition.
Note
If you divide the system into several partitions and later disable some of them, you must remove or uncheck all zones that were originally assigned to those partitions. To do this, first enable these partitions in the PulsON Alarm Configurator, uncheck the selected zones assigned to those partitions, and then disable the unused partitions again. This is necessary for the active partitions to function properly.
IP Input¶
Select this option when a given zone will virtually process alarms from a BCS Point or BCS Line camera with image analysis, acting as a detector for various alarm events.
Zone Parameterization Types¶
Define the zone parameterization type. The available types are described on page 12. When adding wireless devices to the control panel, the zone parameterization type you select does not matter.
“Night Zone” Function¶
Zones with the “night” function enabled will be automatically disabled when the system is armed in night mode.
Alarm signaling method for monitoring zones¶
Silent¶
A violation of a zone with the Silent signaling function enabled does not trigger a loud alarm. Information about the alarm is recorded in the event log, and the corresponding report code is sent to the monitoring stations.
Bell¶
A violation of a zone with the BELL signaling function selected triggers a loud alarm. Information about the alarm is logged in the event log, and the corresponding report code is sent to monitoring stations.
Buzzer¶
A violation of a zone with the Buzzer signaling function selected triggers an audible alarm only on the keypads. Information about the alarm is recorded in the event log, and the corresponding report code is sent to the monitoring stations.
Bell and Buzzer¶
A violation of a zone with the “Bell and Buzzer” signaling function selected triggers a loud alarm and activates an audible signal on the keypads. Information about the alarm is recorded in the event log, and the corresponding report code is sent to the monitoring stations.
Bell (Armed) / Buzzer (Disarmed)¶
A violation of a zone with the selected “Bell (Armed)/Buzzer (Disarmed)” signaling function triggers a loud alarm during armed mode; when the system is disarmed, it triggers only an audible signal on the keypads. Information about the alarm is recorded in the event log, and the corresponding report code is sent to the monitoring station.
Buzzer for arming / silent disarming¶
A violation of a zone with the selected “Buzzer on arming / silent disarming” signaling function triggers an audible alarm on the keys when the system is in monitoring mode, but does not trigger any audible alarm when the system is disarmed. Information about the alarm is recorded in the event log, and the corresponding report code is sent to the monitoring stations.
Zone response time¶
Fast¶
Zone response time: 100 ms.
Slow¶
Zone response time: 400 ms.
User-defined¶
Response time defined in the System / General / Custom Zone Response Time tab.
Lock Option¶
This option determines whether the zone can be blocked by the user during arming.
Transmission Delay (TX)¶
The transmission delay time to the monitoring station, expressed in seconds. If the alarm is cleared during this time (by disarming the partition to which the zone is assigned), the system will not send the alarm information to the SMA.
BELL Delay¶
The delay time before the BELL output is activated, expressed in seconds.
Gong¶
If this option is enabled, each time a violation of a zone with the gong function enabled occurs, a sound will be generated on the keypad, provided that the gong function has also been enabled in the keypad settings. To allow the user to enable or disable the gong sound, assign the “Enable/Disable Gong” function to a function key (F1–F6) in the Keypad Options tab.
Dual Fire Alarm Verification¶
Fire alarm verification function—if an alarm is detected from the 24-hour fire zone, the voltage at the detector power output will be cut off for 3 seconds; if, after restarting, the detectors detect a hazard again, a loud alarm will be generated immediately and an event report code will be sent to the monitoring stations.

Sequential Detection¶
A zone violation with the “sequential detection” option enabled during monitoring generates an alarm, but the alarm information is not sent to the monitoring station. Only a subsequent zone violation with sequential detection enabled triggers the sending of the corresponding event code to the monitoring station. (See also: Sequential Detection Time Window in the System tab).
Multiple Violations¶
The first violation of a zone during monitoring with the “Multiple Violations” option enabled does not trigger an alarm; only a subsequent violation of the same zone triggers an alarm. This option is linked to the “Violation Counter” and “Violations Over Time” parameters.
Smart Zone¶
If a zone is violated once while the “Smart” option is enabled, the partition does not generate an alarm; instead, the system begins a verification countdown. If another zone with the “Smart” option enabled is violated within the programmed time, only then is an alarm event generated. (See also: Smart Zone Time Window in the System tab).
Violation Counter¶
This option specifies how many zone violations are required to trigger an alarm—it is linked to the “Breaches Over Time” parameter.
Violations Over Time¶
This option specifies the time period during which violations of zones must occur to trigger an audible alarm—it is linked to the “Breach Counter” parameter.
Forced Arming¶
This option determines whether the system can be armed in the event of a violation of a monitoring zone.
Violation Verification¶
This function allows for the detection of potential damage or malfunction of a detector. If there is no violation of the detector within a defined time interval, the system will generate a trouble.

Bell Lockout¶
A parameter specifying after how many alarms from a given zone the triggering of the audible alarm will be blocked.
TX Block¶
A parameter specifying the number of alarms from a given zone that must occur before transmission to the SM is blocked (this option protects the SM from receiving a large number of alarm events from faulty detectors).
