Quick Installation Guide

This manual describes how to quickly set up the PulsON Alarm 2.0 4G alarm system. Detailed information about all features and settings can be found in the full Installer’s Manual.

ℹ️ IMPORTANT

This quick guide is intended to speed up the deployment and initial configuration of the system. It does not replace the need to be familiar with the full Installer’s Manual, which contains a complete set of rules for installation, configuration, diagnostics, and safety requirements.

Step 1 – Installing the Panel

  1. Mount the panel in the housing with the transformer in a dry room.
  2. Connect the transformer to the AC terminal on the panel board (16–18 V AC).
  3. Connect the battery to the +BAT- connector (maintain correct polarity).
  4. Connect the enclosure’s tamper switch to the TMP terminal (short to ground = normal state).
  5. Connect the siren to the +BELL- output (PGM1). The circuit requires a 2.2 kΩ terminating resistor.

Warning

Do not connect the 230 V power supply until you have finished wiring all devices.

Step 2 – Bus and Devices

Bus Wiring

Run a 4-wire cable (RED, BLK, YEL, GRN) from the panel to the keypads and expanders in a linear topology (without branches). Do not use shielded cables.

For UTP cable: Use one pair from the twisted-pair cable for data transmission (YEL, GRN).

Device Addressing

Set unique addresses on the DIP switches before turning on the power.

Warning

The TouchBus 7" keypad has a default address of 8. To change the address: turn off the keypad’s power, turn it back on, and click the PulsON logo during startup.

Step 3 – Initial Startup

  1. Turn on the AC power, then connect the battery.
  2. Wait for the panel to boot up—the Heartbeat LEDs (red) should flash at ~1 Hz.

Bus Scan

After connecting all devices, perform a scan using one of the following methods:

From the keypad: log in with the installer code → OK Menu → Bus Scan → Start Scan.

Using the button on the board: press and hold the signal measurement button → wait for 2 blue LEDs → release the button. The number of flashes = the number of modules found.

From the AC2 program: connect the USB-B cable → Scan Bus (top menu) → check the result in Diagnostics/Modules.

The number of modules found must match the number of installed devices. If there is a discrepancy, check the DIP addresses and wiring.

Step 4 – Configuration using the Alarm Configuration 2 program

  1. Download the program from pulsonalarm.pl/pl/files (Windows 7+, Windows 10+ recommended).
  2. Connect the panel to the computer using a USB-B cable.
  3. Launch the program. When launching the program for the first time, create a username and password to access Alarm Configuration 2—you’ll need these credentials for every subsequent login. The default username is admin (we recommend leaving it unchanged).
  4. Create a new system in the program and enter the facility name.
  5. Connect—when connecting to a brand-new system for the first time, enter the PC connection code.
  6. Configure the basic sections:

7. Upload the configuration to the panel via the Upload to panel and save button.

Warning

During programming, the system does not generate alarms and partitions cannot be armed. The message “Programming in progress” is displayed on the other keypads.

Step 5 – GSM / Wi-Fi Communication

SIM Card

  1. Insert the SIM card into the slot on the panel board with the power off.
  2. Turn on the power and check the signal strength (using the button on the board or the keypad).

3. In AC2, configure your carrier’s APN in the Communication tab.

Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi module supports only the 2.4 GHz frequency. It requires a separate antenna with a U.FL IPX connector (not included).

Step 6 – System Test

  1. Check for troubles: Log in to the keypad → OK Menu → Trouble Overview. Clear all troubles before commissioning the system.
  2. Test the detectors: Go to Settings → Walk Test → select the alarm type → trigger each detector in turn and check if the panel registers a violation.
  3. Arming test: Arm and disarm each partition. Verify that the siren and keypad display the correct signals.
  4. Communication test: Verify the connection to the cloud (blue LEDs on the panel) and/or the monitoring station.
  5. Mobile app: Install the BCS ONE or PulsON Alarm app and verify remote control functionality.

Step 7 – Handing Over the System to the User

  1. Change the default master user code (8888 → new code).
  2. Change the installer code (4321 → new code).
  3. Train the user on basic functions: arming/disarming, trouble handling, and the mobile app.

Quick Help

Problem Solution
Keypads display a "no communication with the panel" message. Check the bus wiring and the addresses of devices on the bus. Check that the YEL and GRN wires are not swapped. With the power off, check for short circuits on the bus, both to RED and BLK. Rescan the bus.
The keypad is unresponsive Check the bus power supply (RED/BLK). Measure the voltage at the terminals.
No GSM signal Check the antenna, SIM card, and APN configuration.
BELL trouble Check the siren connection and verify that a 2.2 kΩ resistor is present in the BELL circuit.
Forgotten installer code With the power off, hold down the signal measurement button, turn on the power, and wait until the LEDs next to the processor start flashing—the installer code and the master user code will be reset to their default settings.
Factory reset Disconnect the AC power and the battery → install the DEFAULT jumper → connect the AC power → wait for the LEDs to flash → remove the jumper.
