TouchBus 7" Tablet Keypad¶
The TouchBus 7" tablet keypad enables convenient operation of the PulsON Alarm 2.0 4G alarm system. Navigating the menu is done in the manner typical for touchscreens, and descriptions are added using a convenient on-screen keyboard. Use the up and down navigation arrows to navigate through certain menu options. To exit a function or log out, use the arrow button; to return to the main menu, use the button with the house symbol.
Logging into the Keyboard Panel – Main Screen¶
During normal operation, the keypad is protected against unauthorized access. Operating the system is not possible at this time. The display shows the keypad, clock, special alarm buttons, and the status of the partitions assigned to the keypad.
At the top of the screen, icons are displayed as needed to indicate the presence of 230V AC power, trouble in the system (yellow triangle), and a system alarm (red exclamation mark) that occurred during the last arming.
To operate the system—arming/disarming, accessing the user menu, controlling outputs, etc.—you must enter the correct access code (user code).
The default master user code is 8888. The master user has the authority to manage the alarm system and assign codes and permissions to other users. In a newly commissioned system, the master code is the only user code and, for the security of the premises, should be changed by the user to a different one.
The keypad will verify the user’s access level and allow them to manage the system. After entering the correct code, the previous view of the numeric keys and clock will disappear, and the display will show the screen listing the partitions to which the user has access, along with shortcut buttons to view zones, outputs, events, and settings available to the user.
ATTENTION
After the user logs in to the keypad, the number of partitions displayed may change, depending on the user’s permissions and the control panel’s settings.
Use the up and down arrows to scroll through the available options. To return to the main screen from a selected function, press the house icon button. Enter descriptions using the keypad.
If, after logging in, the user does not perform any action on the keypad within 30 seconds, the system will log the user out, and the keypad will display the numeric keys and the clock.
The user can log out of the keypad early by pressing the [gear] and [arrow] buttons. The following will be available without having to log in to the keypad:

Partition Screen¶
After logging in to the keypad, the previous view of the numeric keys and clock will disappear, and the display will show the Partition Screen, listing the partitions to which the user has access, along with shortcut buttons for zone preview, output control, event review, and user settings.
The partitions available to the user are displayed with the descriptions assigned to them by the installer. The icons next to them indicate the status of the alarm system. The padlock symbol next to the partition name (green for open or red for closed) indicates the status of that partition (disarmed or armed).
The "i" button allows you to check the status of the zones belonging to that partition.
Zone Status Information¶
Clicking the icon displays a preview of the status of the control panel’s monitoring zones (inputs). At the bottom of the zone screen is a legend that uses colors to describe the status of the zones in the system: ready, not ready (violation), alarm in memory, and zone tamper. This feature is useful during system startup, testing, and maintenance.
Arming and Disarming the System¶
To arm the system, it must be ready for arming, the monitoring zones must be intact, and there must be no trouble in the system (unless the installer has programmed the control panel otherwise). This is indicated by green, open padlocks under the partition symbols and the absence of the yellow trouble triangle symbol. If a zone (detector) is violated, an open door symbol will appear instead of the padlock symbol. After logging into the keypad, you can check which zone is violated by pressing the corresponding button.
Warning
If any zone is not ready (highlighted in gray or yellow), it may not be possible to arm the system. Depending on how the installer programmed the control panel, it may also be impossible to arm the alarm system while a trouble is present, until the trouble is resolved.
After resolving the cause of the zone violation, enter the code of a user with the appropriate permissions. After entering the code, the partition screen will appear, displaying only those partitions to which the user has access. To arm or disarm a partition, select it by tapping its name. You can arm or disarm more than one partition at a time. You can also select all partitions with a single button press.
After selecting the partitions, press the button corresponding to the action you want to perform:
Warning
The night mode arming function will only work if the installer has enabled this feature in the panel.
After selecting the arming mode, the control panel begins to arm the selected partitions; the keypad exits the partition screen and displays the remaining exit time for the partitions being armed on the main screen. During this time, the user should leave the premises.
Successful arming is indicated by red, closed padlock symbols next to the selected partitions, and the keypad is protected against unauthorized access.
Red, closed padlocks next to the partition names indicate which partitions are armed. Before entering the protected areas, you must disarm the appropriate partitions. After logging in, select the desired armed partitions and press the green padlock icon.
Warning
The system arming and disarming functions, as well as most other control panel functions, are also available via the PulsON Alarm mobile app. Instructions for using the mobile app are provided in the Mobile App Manual.
Arming in Night Mode¶
Arming partitions in night mode allows you to arm partitions while bypassing the zones defined by the installer as “night” zones. Typically, this arming mode is selected when the system user wishes to remain inside the monitored premises. Once armed in night mode, the zones defined by the system installer as “night” will be automatically disabled, and a violation of these zones will not trigger an alarm.
To arm selected zones in night mode, press the button with the moon icon.
Quick Arming¶
Quick arming allows you to arm the system without logging into the keypad with a user code. Quick arming will arm all partitions assigned to the keypad in the selected mode. To use the quick arming feature, press the “fn” button on the main screen, and on the next screen, press the button for the selected arming mode: full arming or night mode arming.
The quick arming option must first be enabled by the installer (by default, the option is disabled).
Alarm Log¶
The alarm log is a feature that records the alarm triggered during the last monitoring session. It reminds you to check what caused the alarm and which detector was violated. The feature also serves as a warning, informing the user of a potential danger in the form of an intruder’s presence in the monitored premises.
When the alarm memory is displayed, a red alarm symbol appears in the upper corner of the display, and until the alarm duration expires, the partition padlock symbols change to red “bell” symbols.
Clearing the Alarm Log¶
To clear the alarm log, enter your user code.
After logging in to the keypad, the message “Alarm in memory. Confirm” reminds you of the alarm and the need to check its cause. Press the Confirm button. On the partition screen, red bell symbols flash next to the partitions that triggered the alarm. Select these partitions and clear the alarm using the button with the green padlock. After the alarm is cleared, the partitions remain disarmed.
Special Alarms and Security Measures¶
Triggering Special Alarms¶
There are 3 types of special alarms—those that the system user can access at any time while the system is operational (provided the special alarm buttons have not been disabled by the installer). Special alarms are used to trigger an alarm directly from the keypad. Alarms triggered from the keypad do not require code confirmation.

To trigger a special alarm, press and hold the button marked with the alarm symbol appropriate for the situation for 2 seconds. Confirmation that the control panel has received the alarm signal is indicated by the appearance of a red alarm icon, red bells in place of the padlock symbols, and an audible tone from the keypad (no tone is heard in the case of a panic alarm).
Keypad Lock for Cleaning¶
The keypad lock function for cleaning blocks all buttons on the keypad for 20 seconds. During this time, you can clean the keypad screen without the risk of triggering unwanted events or alarms.
To activate the keypad lock, press the “fn” button on the main screen, then press and hold the button with the cloth symbol for 2 seconds.
Function Buttons¶
The system user has 6 function buttons available on the keypad, which the system installer can program with the necessary, most frequently used system functions. For example, a specific function button can activate the trouble log, arm a partition, sound the chime, or activate a user output.
To activate a selected function, press the “fn” button on the main screen, then press one of the F1 through F6 buttons corresponding to the desired function. The function will be activated, or a numeric keypad will appear to confirm access by entering the user code.
Keypad Lockout After an Incorrect Code¶
To protect the system against unauthorized access, the keypad locks for 4 seconds after three consecutive incorrect code entries. After the first and second incorrect code entries, the message “Incorrect Code” is displayed. Once the keypad is locked, the message “Keypad Locked” appears, and a countdown to the end of the lockout begins. The lockout is progressive, meaning that while the keypad is locked, each subsequent entry of an incorrect code will double the lockout duration.
It is also possible to remotely update the control panel’s software. The update is performed by the installer after obtaining the user’s consent. The user grants service access to the control panel by enabling this feature on the keypad. Enter the master user code, press the gear icon button, then press the Settings option and select Allow Service. From the displayed time periods, choose the one appropriate for the situation. Service access can be granted for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours, 1 day, or indefinitely. Your selection will be confirmed by a change in the date until which the service permission is valid, displayed at the top of the screen. You can disable the installer’s access to the control panel’s programming functions at any time by selecting the Disable option.
ATTENTION
Updating the panel software is only possible when the alarm system is completely disarmed. During the update, no actions can be performed on the alarm system. The update progress is displayed on the keypad as a percentage.
Duress Code¶
The duress code should be used when a system user is facing a threat. Using the duress code—for example, to disarm the system—disarms the system while simultaneously triggering a silent alarm and notifying the monitoring station. The duress code is the same as the user code, but the last digit must be increased by 1.
System Management and Control¶
User Function Menu¶
To access the user function menu, log in to the keypad using the user code of a user authorized to operate the system, and then press the 
button or select the button dedicated to zone blocking, controlling user outputs, or reviewing the event log (these functions are also included in the menu accessible by pressing the 
button).
The following functions are available in the user functions menu:
Event Log¶
The event log can display the last 2,000 events that occurred in the system.
Events related to the operation of the alarm system are stored in the order in which they occurred. Events are displayed from the top, starting with the most recent ones. Each event includes the date and time of occurrence, as well as information about the event type, including the name of the zone or partition from which it originated and the user or system module that triggered the event.

Zone Blocking¶
Blocking a zone allows you to temporarily disable it due to a detector malfunction or—for example—leaving a dog in a room with a detector. Blocked zones will not trigger an alarm while the system is armed. Zones are blocked only for the duration of the next system arming. Once the system is disarmed, the detectors/zones will be active again.
To block a zone, select it from the list using the up and down arrows and block it by pressing the green switch. The slider will turn red, confirming that the detector has been blocked. To unblock the zone, press the switch again. The slider will turn green.

Troubles¶
The Trouble Overview section displays troubles currently occurring in the system. Troubles indicate irregularities in the operation of the system or its peripherals. To determine the exact cause of a trouble, review the event log, where system events are described in greater detail.
After reading the trouble description in the Trouble Overview menu, press the Clear Troubles button to clear the message. If the trouble persists, the message cannot be cleared.
The details of the troubles and the user’s recommended response are provided in the table at the end of this manual.

Outputs¶
The PulsON Alarm system allows users to enable and disable programmable outputs located on the control panel’s panel and/or expansion modules.
This way, the user can use the keypad to activate—for example—lawn watering, garden lighting, or gate opening, provided the installer has made the appropriate connections.
To activate an output, select it from the list using the up and down arrows and activate it by pressing the red switch. The slider will turn green, confirming that the output is active. To deactivate the output, press the switch again. The slider will turn red.
Warning
Depending on how the outputs are programmed and/or how the actuators controlled by the control panel operate, the output control may be reversed (red slider – output on; green slider – output off). Outputs can also be controlled according to a schedule (timer) and using Clips. Control is also available in the PulsON Alarm mobile app, in the Outputs tab.
Users¶
The Users section is used to manage user codes. Depending on the user’s access level, they can add and edit access rights for all users (in the case of the master code), all users except the master user (in the case of the supervisor code), or only their own access code (in the case of other users).
When adding a user, assign permissions according to each user’s access level, using the options displayed on the subsequent menu screens. The most important steps are entering the user’s name, marking the user as active, assigning them to the correct partition, and entering the code digits. Without this information, the user will not have access to control the system. The remaining options can be left enabled or disabled, depending on the individual permissions of the user in question.
Warning
For the security of the facility, users should change their system access code from time to time (for example, once a year). Simple codes (e.g., 5555) or codes related to the user’s date or year of birth should not be used.
QR (mobile app settings)¶
The QR tab displays the logged-in user’s QR code for automatically adding the control panel to the mobile app, as well as the system data required to use the mobile app, associated with the logged-in user. How to use the mobile app is explained in the Mobile App Manual.
In general, install the PulsON Alarm app on your mobile device and add the system using the QR code reader. All system data will be read; you’ll need to enter the system name. Only then will the Save button become active. You can also enter the system data manually.
Settings¶
This section contains features that affect the proper operation and security of the alarm system. For this reason, their use should be carefully considered or discussed with the system installer.
Warning
In the Settings tab, some options are available only after entering the master code, supervisor code, or installer code.
After selecting the Settings tab, a set of service functions will be displayed:
Date and Time¶
This feature allows you to set the current time and date, taking into account daylight saving time and the time zone. The time zone for Poland is +1 hour relative to UTC.
Allow Service¶
In accordance with the Polish Standard PN-EN 50131, the user/owner of the alarm system grants permission for the installer to perform service work: on a case-by-case basis or for an unlimited period.
After entering this function, the user can select the time interval during which the installer will have service access to the control panel: 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours; 1 day; or an unlimited period. If a specific date is displayed at the top of the screen, it means that service permission has already been granted. If necessary, you can revoke it by selecting the Disable option, which will change the service authorization date to the message INACTIVE.
Walk Test¶
This feature allows you to periodically test the operation of the detectors in your alarm system on your own. After selecting this feature, you can choose whether detector testing should be accompanied by an audible alert (Enable BELL) or simply confirmed on the keypad (No BELL).
Selecting this option will display a table showing the monitoring zones in your system. You can now violate the detectors one by one. When a detector is violated, a short beep will sound from the siren (if selected), and the field displaying the zone number in the table will turn green. These indicators remain active until the end of the test and allow you to verify that all zones in the system are functioning properly.
To end the test, exit this function by pressing the back arrow key several times.
You can also monitor violations of monitoring zones in the PulsON Alarm mobile app, under the “Zones” tab. A violation is indicated by a house icon displayed to the left of the zone’s name.
ATTENTION
According to the Polish Standard, the alarm system should be regularly tested and maintained by a certified installer. Tests include verifying proper operation and cleaning all detectors and system components, checking alarm signal transmission, verifying battery capacity, and checking connections to other systems. Alarm system maintenance should be performed at least once every six months.
Keypad Options¶
This feature allows you to customize the keypad’s operation to suit your needs. After selecting this feature, the keypad settings options are displayed.

Brightness: Use the slider to select a value between 1 (darker) and 5 (brighter)

Buzzer: Turn the keypad’s audible alert on or off: red slider – buzzer off, green slider – buzzer on

Backlight Time: Select the time after which the backlight will turn off if no keys are pressed; pressing any key will turn the backlight back on.
Warning
Setting the time to 000 [s] keeps the keypad backlight on continuously.
- LCD Dimming: Here you can decide whether the LCD screen will turn off after the time set in the Backlight Time option: red slider – no dimming, green slider – dimming enabled.
During normal system operation, pressing any key will bring the screen back on.
Warning
Changing a keypad’s settings applies only to the specific keypad on which the settings are being modified. If the system has multiple keypads, the settings must be changed independently on each one. The settings can also be changed by the alarm system installer using the Alarm Configuration 2 software or system-wide from a single keypad.
- Restart the system: a service function used after a software update or to refresh the connection to the server; to be used during service work, in consultation with the system installer.
Installer Programming¶
This feature allows the installer to program the system. To do this, the user must grant the installer access to programming in the Settings / Allow Service menu, specifying the duration of access. Without the user’s consent, access to system programming is not possible. Installer programming is available to an authorized installer after logging into the keypad with the installer code. System programming is described in the Installer’s Manual.
Log Out¶
This function allows you to exit the menu and secure the keypad against unauthorized access.
